Anthropic Surges to $380 Billion Valuation Following Record $30 Billion Investment by Global Institutions

In a funding round that exemplifies the explosive growth of the AI sector, Anthropic has raised $30 billion at a valuation of $380 billion. The AI company’s dramatic valuation increase from $183 billion just months prior demonstrates both rapid technological advancement and growing enterprise recognition of AI’s transformative capabilities.
GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, and Coatue Management, a prominent technology-focused hedge fund, jointly led the exceptional investment round. Their participation validates Anthropic’s leadership position in enterprise AI applications, where the company’s technology has demonstrated compelling advantages in business deployment and scalability.
Revenue performance at Anthropic has been phenomenal, achieving an annualized $14 billion after experiencing more than tenfold growth in each of the past three years. The launch and rapid adoption of Claude Code, an AI-powered development tool that became widely available in May 2025, has been central to this expansion, capturing significant market share in the competitive AI development tools sector.
Anthropic’s financial roadmap outlines a path to sustainable operations, with cash burn expected to decrease to approximately one-third of revenue next year and single-digit percentages by 2027. The company’s 2028 break-even target would mark a significant milestone, potentially positioning Anthropic as the first major AI startup to achieve profitability ahead of anticipated public market debuts.
The company was established by siblings Dario and Daniela Amodei in 2021 following their departures from leadership roles at OpenAI, with a founding mission emphasizing AI safety. Anthropic’s recent marketing initiatives, including high-profile Super Bowl advertising, have highlighted its commitment to ad-free products, distinguishing it from competitors who have introduced advertising models, while leveraging major backing from Amazon and Google totaling over $10 billion.
