Revolutionary Green Pea Hummus: Tech-Driven Protein and Fiber Boost for Meals

Incorporating more protein and fiber into everyday meals can be as simple as preparing a homemade green pea hummus. This delightful blend combines boiled chickpeas and green peas, seasoned with herbs and spices, alongside healthy fats, offering a nutritious alternative to traditional condiments.

A single serving of this hummus delivers approximately 12 to 13 grams of protein, while also enriching your diet with essential fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Its smooth, creamy texture makes it an excellent substitute for mayonnaise or ketchup and pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes, from wraps and sandwiches to Indian favorites like dosa and paratha.

Creating this green pea hummus is straightforward. Begin by steaming one cup of green peas for about seven to eight minutes until they are tender. Then, in a blender, combine the cooked peas with one cup of boiled chickpeas, a tablespoon of sesame seeds, a handful each of coriander and mint leaves, one to two green chilies, a garlic clove, half a teaspoon of cumin powder, salt to taste, the juice of half a lemon, a tablespoon of olive oil, and two to three ice cubes. Blend these ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy, adding a little water if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.

Once prepared, transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and enhance its presentation with a drizzle of olive oil and optional garnishes such as red chili powder, pomegranate seeds, or a few whole chickpeas. This versatile spread can be enjoyed as a dip with fresh vegetables or used to elevate the flavor of sandwiches, wraps, and various other meals.

Green pea hummus is an easy yet effective way to boost the nutritional value of everyday meals without resorting to restrictive dietary changes. Although green peas are not considered a complete protein due to their lower levels of certain essential amino acids, they can still contribute to a balanced diet when combined with other protein-rich foods.
